Valentine Day Fever

Characters: Mamboy, X-men, Mark

Its always difficult to find a good girlfriend. More trouble is in store when your parents are forcing you to find one. Somehow i always find Mamboy's parents complaining about this every time i visit him. The situation had been escalated to such extent that the criteria for finding the person had crossed the barriers of language, caste, creed and even religion. The only criteria put forward to Mamboy was that the girl should be an Indian (This was after X-man and Mark convinced Mamboy's mom that his best friend was a foreigner named Catherine)

Valentine's Day was coming close and Mamboy's company put forward a dress code for the day which everyone were to follow. A RED shirt was the dress code for the guys. Mamboy didn't have one and decided to get one for himself. Being a workaholic, he couldn't find time to get one and decided to get help (From his Mom)

Mamboy being a shy and hesitant person thought its not good to tell his Mom the real reason behind the shirt. He decided to fake one. He said that its sports day and he should be wearing a red shirt since he belonged to a team.

Valentine's day arrived and Mamboy wore the red shirt to office. His mom asked him whether it was the sports day today. He replied in affirmative.

In the afternoon Mamboy get a call from home (From his Mom). The conversation is given below

Mom: Give it to her

Mamboy: Give what?

Mom: Give the phone to her.

Mamboy: To whom? What are you saying?

Mom: I know everything. You lied to me? Give the phone to her

Mamboy: To whom?

Mom: I am watching TV 9. They are explaining the significance of red/white/yellow shirts on valentines day. Red means you already have a Girlfriend. Now give the phone to her.

Mamboy: No mom. I am in RED team. Today is sports day. That is why am wearing red.

(Mamboy is totally freaked out and doesn't know what to say. Meanwhile his Manager seems to be laughing out loud on the phone talking to someone)

Mom: I am your mother. You cant lie to me. I hear a girl laughing. Give the phone to her

Mamboy: No mom, there is no one over here.

Mom: Swear on me that you don't have a girlfriend.

Mamboy: I swear i don't.

Mom: I knew you are a waste fellow. Now confirmed. Looks like you will never get a girlfriend. You have time till the next Diwali to find one. You know whats going to happen after that.

Mamboy's Mom hangs up the phone and Mamboy is relieved. He still has his red shirt in remembrance of the incident. He is no more planning to wear it in the near future, at least not on Valentines day.

Moral: Never wear Red shirt on Valentines Day and try declaring it as sports day....:)
